Escape    Mur finished plying the length of thread from the two balls of singles he had spun with the spindle, and sat back against the bunk in the infirmary. He had used all the cotton that Wylds had given him, and Wylds had not yet returned; perhaps the watcher had misjudged how long Mur would take to finish.  
    He shifted restlessly, feeling out of place amidst the blue. Lyla had retreated down to the holding levels, leaving him to his work, and so he was alone here. He had not been alone in a very long time.

Chet    Chet wandered along under the fronds of the big trees, peacefully meandering between trunks and watching the elves go about their business. And to think, very long ago, the earth had been as fruitful as this, without even elves to help it. He shook his head and sighed, putting it from his mind. As usual, Rosa took its place, and he smiled at the thought of her.      Admittedly, she was the reason he was here, in the green level, instead of the holding area where he belonged.
